Located in a row of 17th-century canal houses on the Singel, Amsterdam’s oldest canal, you’ll find the most unique and cozy Hotel Estheréa. This boutique hotel has been run by a family for more than 80 years. Quite a few things have changed over the years. The premises started out as a guest house with 12 rooms and has now been developed into a luxury gem with 91 rooms and two suites.

Our Rooms
Being a small luxury hotel in Amsterdam means we offer more than one way to feel at home. Alongside our Classic Rooms, we offer spacious Luxury Rooms, some featuring their own jacuzzi, and all finished with a luxurious bathroom. For those who want to wake up to the canal itself, our canal-view rooms look directly out over the Singel.
From our 13 m² Classic Rooms to our 55 m² Van Oranje Suite, each room is designed with an eye for detail. Hotel Estheréa is a five-minute walk from Dam Square and ten minutes from Amsterdam Centraal Station.
The Van Oranje Suite
And then there are our two suites, the icing on the cake. Both located on the ground floor, each with its own distinct character. The Van Oranje Suite at Hotel Estheréa lives up to its name: warm orange tones, rich fabrics and dark mahogany, crowned by an extravagant chandelier. At 55 m², it offers all the space you could wish for, an elegant retreat to unwind in complete luxury.
The Pink Suite
The Pink Suite is more intimate at 30 m², split into two elegant sections, a lounge area and a tasteful boudoir, dressed in luxurious fabrics. With views over one of our green patios and the pond, it’s the perfect setting for a romantic getaway.

Can I arrange something special for a birthday or anniversary?
Yes. You can add extras such as champagne, flowers, chocolate or helium balloons when you book. Our team will have everything ready in your room before you arrive. For specific requests, contact us directly and we are happy to help.
Which room is best for a romantic weekend or special celebration?
For a romantic getaway, we recommend a Canal room with views of the Singel or the Pink Suite with its intimate boudoir setting. For milestone anniversaries or larger celebrations, the Van Oranje Suite offers 55 m² of private space. All rooms can be combined with our room extras.
Is Hotel Estheréa suitable for a proposal or honeymoon?
The Pink Suite and our Canal rooms are the most popular choices for proposals and honeymoon stays. Both offer a romantic atmosphere with views of either the canal or the garden patio. Add champagne and flowers to set the scene.
How can I book a surprise for someone staying at the hotel?

You can choose from champagne, prosecco, fresh flowers, a box of Dutch chocolates, helium balloons, a room scent, or a breakfast package. You can also upgrade to a Luxury room with canal views or a Luxury room with jacuzzi. All extras can be added when you book or by contacting us directly.

We are right in the heart of Amsterdam. Hotel Estheréa is located on the Singel, a five-minute walk from Dam Square and ten minutes from Amsterdam Centraal Station. The Negen Straatjes, the Jordaan and the main museums are all within walking distance.
